2008 REUNION INFORMATION

2008 REUNION PHOTOS
We had a great time in Fort Worth, TX. The Worthington, although quite pricey, treated us well. The Hospitality Room was great. It even came with a King Sized bed. I didn’t see any free Viagra though. We bought too many snacks, and gave what was left over to those that could make use of them, The two coolers, bought with Seadragon funds went to Larry Yano for the great amount of help provided to make this Reunion a success.  I want to personally thank those others that gave freely of there time and energies to help with the Hospitality Room..
The Banquet and Business Meeting was held on Friday Night. We had 60 people attend the Banquet.     The Worthington laid out a great spread. We all ate more than our diets allowed. After everyone was fed we held our required Business Meeting.
Lee O’Dell opened the Meeting with a prayer. Then Phil Philipps gave us a few on point comments and had each of us say a few words about our experiences. The Raffles were held with the following winners. The Submarine Model was won by Lee O’Dell. The set of Poker Chips, donated by our out going President Jim Fox, was won by Flossie Waldron. The 50/50 drawing was won by Gorden Norden. He donated the $86.00 back to the General Fund.
The Business Meeting opened with a discussion of the new By-Laws. The By-Laws were accepted as read. There was a discussion of the cost of holding these Reunions. A Motion was made from the Floor and Seconded, Raising the dues to $20.00 per year. Next the Election of Officers was held. Jerry Gruenhagen was nominated for Vice President to fill the vacancy left when Larry Gurlea was promoted to President. There were no further nominations and Jerry was elected unanimously. There was a need to fill the New Position of Auditor. Duane Smith was nominated from the floor with no further nominations. Duane was elected by unanimous show of hands. Both Nominees agreed to serve in their respective elected positions. A financial report will be placed on the Seadragon Web site shortly. The Meeting was closed with a Prayer by Lee O’Dell.
We are currently working on the next Reunion to be held in Cincinnati, Ohio. The dates will coincide with the USSVI Convention to be held in 2010. Further information will be in the Yearly State of the Alumni Association Letter and on the Web Site,  this information should be published next January.
